Racheal & Christopher Cain Scholarship
The Rachael and Christopher Cain Scholarship was created in 2021.
Inspector Racheal Cain and her husband Christopher created the scholarship to provide financial support for graduating seniors who posses an interest in the field of criminal justice, pursue their dreams of higher education.
Inspector Cain joined the Division of Criminal Justice after a long and distinguished career with the New Haven Police Department, retiring at the rank of Assistant Chief. While at the NHPD, Inspector Cain saw the importance of continued education after being passed over for promotional opportunities due to her lack of a college degree. This inspired her to go back to school, obtaining her Bachelor of Science in 2018.
Both Racheal and Chris grew up in low income families and know that college is not an option for every student. The Cains are proud to offer this scholarship to a deserving student in Connecticut to ensure that other young men and women have the opportunity to realize their educational goals.
